Screw feeders are primarily used in series production in electrical and precision engineering, in combination with hand-held pneumatic screwdrivers. However, this requires a functionally reliable and also ergonomic, semi-automatic workstation. With a tried-and-tested screw feeder and a new bit for almost all current pneumatic screwdrivers, the TRANS-PNEUMAT® easy meets these requirements.

The idea of placing the sensor technology and actuating elements on the outside away from the bit and screwdriver meant that an extremely small and lightweight work unit could be designed. The new bit offers further benefits: the blade holds the screw head in place, the screw is automatically pressed through the collet chuck and the system starts automatically on pressure. The bit is automatically retracted. The screw can be guided freely between the workpiece and the blade. Low, hidden and confined spaces can also be handled without difficulty. The screwing process is performed gently without back pressure, and the bit does not come into contact with the workpiece.

Benefits compared to feeders with automatic feed function:

1.) Four different screwing programmes in one device

2.) No sensor technology or actuating elements on screwdriver or bit, offering benefits for handling, weight, installation size and sensitivity

3.) Can be easily adapted for a range of screwdriver sizes

4.) No manual activation of feed

5.) Ergonomics: with conventional feed screwdrivers, the screwdriver is moved and the worker’s hand is pushed upwards.

With the easy, the bit is pushed backwards but the worker’s hand remains still in one position – the backward momentum does not have to be cushioned. With this system, all screws with a maximum shank and head diameter of up to 5.0 mm and 10 mm respectively and a maximum length of 22 mm can be used with a standard bit. Special bits are offered for screws with different dimensions. Three screwing programmes can be set for different screw types and one programme for removing screws.
